Latest painting in the Arkaroola series

1800 million years in the making

‘1800 Million years in the making’ – Acrylic on canvas 120 x 180 cm

This is the latest painting in the series I am working towards on the subject of Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary in the Northern Flinders Ranges, South Australia. I was fortunate enough to travel to this magnificent landscape this year with fellow artists, led by the wonderful Artist and mentor, Joy Engelman.  On closer inspection, this painting looks at the fight to save this beautiful landscape from uranium mining. Thanks to the dedication of Arkaroola warriors, the battle was won and Arkaroola will hopefully be around for many millions more!
